Companies were dispatched to a reported high angle rescue at the Francis Walter Dam on Sunday afternoon. Reports were of a man stuck on a cliff near the water. Updates then reported him in the water. Chief 1701 added Lehighton Dive team to the call. Rescue 17 responded with the ATV, and the boat was also towed with a POV. Once on location, rescue 17 split its crew with one group taking rope and rigging equipment on foot, while the other group launched the boat. The boat crew located the victim on the side of a steep rocky cliff about 70 feet up from the water line. They were able to talk the victim down and get him into the boat to complete the rescue. No injuries were reported, and crews were in service for around one hour.
