CHIMNEY FIRE ON SKY DRIVE

Saturday, November 5, 2011  Fire companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire on Sky Drive in Lake Harmony Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival it was reported that a fire was in the chimney. Investigation proved negative, and companies were available shortly thereafter.

   


 

SNOWSTORM MAKES FOR BUSY DAY

Saturday, October 29, 2011  Lake Harmony was busy during the early fall snowstorm. Multiple calls on the interstate and other areas of the township made for a long day at the firehouse.

   


 

CRASH ON INTERSTATE 80

Sunday, October 23, 2011  Lake Harmony Fire Company was dispatched early Sunday morning to assist PA State Police at an accident at mile post 283 East bound on interstate 80. Companies were in service for about an hour removing a tree across the highway and securing the saddle tank from the tractor trailer.

     



 

WORKING FIRE ON CREST DRIVE IN LAKE HARMONY

Friday, October 7, 2011  Fire companies were dispatched to a dwelling fire on Crest Drive in the Split Rock Area of Lake Harmony Thursday night. En-route, Captain 17 reported fire showing. Upon arrival of Ladder 17, heavy fire was visible from the rear of the dwelling. The crew went into service with 2 1 3/4" hand lines. The ladder was feed by numerous tankers. A fill site was established at the split rock lagoon dry hydrant. Companies were in service well into the morning hours.
 

     



 

132nd PA STATE CONVENTION & PARADE

Saturday, September 24, 2011  Lake Harmony & Albrightsville hosted the 132nd annual Pennsylvania State Firemen's Association Convention and Parade this past week in Lake Harmony. The convention was held at the Split Rock Resort starting Wednesday, September 21st, and ran until Friday. Numerous meetings, presentations, fire training, beef & beer, crowning of our parade queen & princess, and a fire expo took place in the Galleria Convention area during this time. Saturday marked the huge parade through Lake Harmony and the celebration afterwords at the convention center. Music was provided by the Daisy Jug Band and everyone seemed to have a great time. The 136 beautiful trophies were awarded at 7:30 in the Keystone Room, which marked the end of the long weekend. We hope everyone enjoyed their stay, and we thank you for attending.

     

 

2011 NEW JERSEY STATE CHAMPS!

Saturday, September 17, 2011  Lake Harmony Fire Company cleaned house at the 2011 New Jersey State Firemen's Convention in Wildwood, NJ. 5 first place trophies were won on Saturday. First Ladder, Moe Howard Best Ladder, First Marching 1-20 people, First Hand Drawn, and Longest Distance Traveled. Ladder 17 was honored to recieve the Moe Howard Best Ladder Award, which is a one time award that was given in his memory. He was a long time member of the New Jersey Fire Chief's Judging Organization. Moe loved the fire service and especially the ladder trucks. This speacial award was given to the best overall ladder truck, and we a extremely proud to have it in our collection. Members in attendace were: Chief Ralph Lennon, Deputy Chief Steve "Beetle" Lilick, Lieutentant Dave Bevilauqua, Joe Lennon, Dave Washington, Nick Lilick, Carmen Cruz, Joe Lilick, and Ed Darrow.

     

 

VEHICLE RESCUE ON ROUTE 903

Saturday, September 10, 2011  Companies were dispatched to a vehicle rescue on Route 903 by the Penn Kidder School with one victim entrapped. Station 16 members extricated the victim through the passenger side door. Both the driver and passenger were flown to the hospital.


   


 

BEEF & BEER WITH MISS PENNSYLVANIA

On Friday, September 23rd, we will be hosting a Beef & Beer to kick off the 2011 PA State Firemen's Convention. The event will be held at the Galleria Convention Center from 7:00 - 11:00PM and will feature an indoor and outdoor fire expo, live music by the Daisy Jug Band, and an appearance by Miss Pennsylvania. The parade queen & princess will also be crowned at the event. Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased at the door.

   
 

OPEN HOUSE THURSDAY SEPT. 22nd

As part of the PA State Convention festivities, the Lake Harmony Fire Company will be hosting an open house on Thursday, September 22nd from 7:00 PM - 10:PM at the new firehouse. We will be featuring an all Pierce Fire Truck Show, with special appearances from the Fire House Dolls. Come out and see the new station and enjoy some food and beverages - all are welcome. The event is being sponsored by Kistler Builders.

   


 

BIG WIN IN PEN ARGYL PARADE

Monday, September 5, 2011  Lake Harmony wins big again at the 76th annual Labor Day Parade in Pen Argyl. 4 First place trophies were won by the company. Best Aerial, Best Tanker, Best Rescue, and Best Antique for Deputy Chief Steve Lilick's hose cart. Members in attendance were: Chief Ralph Lennon, Deputy Chief Steve Lilick, Captain Roy Lamberson, Joe Lennon, Dave Washington, Ed Darrow, Carmen Cruz.
