We protect 69 square miles of Kidder Township in conjunction with the Albrightsville and Kidder Fire Companies. Our fire district includes many hotels, motels, lakes, a school, Hickory Run State Park, Jack Frost & Big Boulder Ski Areas, Interstate 80, and Interstate 476. Lake Harmony purchased a 1994 Mack / Swab rescue truck from the Fort Washington Fire Company in Montgomery County, PA. The truck was sent out to be repainted at Micro Fire Apparatus in Allentown. The gold leaf and stripping was done by Danz Lettering. The truck is equipped with a 20 KW generator, front and rear winches, 8 bottle cascade system, light tower, and seating for 6 firefighters. Members of the Lake Harmony Fire Company are equipping the truck with an extensive amount of specialty rescue equipment. The truck should be in service by the end of March.

Fire companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Chestnut Road in the Split Rock area of Lake Harmony Friday night. The homeowner was burning his wood stove when he went out side and noticed the outside of the chimney was on fire. Ladder 17 was first on scene and raised a ladder to the chimney. Firefighter Washington & 1602 removed the wood siding surrounding the flu and ran a chain down to clear the debris in the chimney. The fire was contained to the wood surrounding the chimney. Units were in service for just over an hour.

Seven members of the Lake Harmony Fire Company attending the ropes & rigging class this weekend at the Monroe County Fire School. Members learned basic rescue knots and techniques as well as patient packaging and rigging for low angle rescue situations. Members in attendance were: Chief Ralph Lennon, Deputy Chief Steve Lilick, Lieutenant Bill Thomas, Rich Kennedy, Joe Lennon, Steve McGinnis, and Dan Plavin.

A head on collision occurred Saturday afternoon on the access road to the Jack Frost Ski Area. Rescue & Tanker 17 crews secured the scene and applied oil dry to the roadway as well as help load patients. Two victims were transported by Lake Harmony Rescue Squad. Rescue 17 remained on scene to assist with traffic control for about an hour.

Fire companies were dispatched to a series of brush fires along route 903 near the Pine Point Plaza late Friday Night in the village of Albrightsville. 1611 and Ladder 17 quickly extinguished the fires using their booster lines. Companies were in service for about 20 minutes.

Tanker 17 was dispatched on the second alarm of a working dwelling fire in the Pleasant Valley West Development. Flames were through the roof upon arrival of the first units. Our tanker dumped one load at the scene.
