April 2, 2008 Automatic fire alarm at Jack Frost Ski Area - nothing found.
April 5, 2008 Chimney fire at 113 Moseywood Rd. from over-filling of fireplace. Units checked for extension, cleaned chimney.
April 6, 2008 Report of a brush fire on Rte. 940 behind Wild Fern - controlled burn left unattended by owner. Fire extinguished by responding units.
April 7, 2008 Dwelling fire 1732 Rte. 534 - extensive interior damage, rescued a dog, called fire marshall to investigate.

MARCH CALLS

March 2, 2008 Med Evac landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - assisted in landing, loading and take-off of Penn Star V with 40 year old male who fell off the chair lift.
March 3, 2008 Vehicle fire reported at the Econo Lodge on Rt. 940 - owner extinguished fire - fire was in the engine compartment and was completely out.
March 5, 2008 Pole fire at Wild Fern Restaurant on Rt. 940 - no response from LHFD - handled by Kidder Fire Co.
March 5, 2008 Vehicle accident on Rt. 903 near Monroe County Line - one vehicle crash with car down an embankment and car on its side and driver trapped - removed front windshield and cut roof - EMS entered through rear window - driver extricated and transported.
March 5, 2008 Dwelling fire at 132 Linberg Circle in Towamensing Township - dwelling fully involved - tanker did 6 shuttles for water - rescue truck provided lighting - ladder truck could not get near driveway - building completely destroyed.
March 5, 2008 Vehicle accident on Old Stage Road near Rt. 903 - Albrightsville Unit 1641 while en route to above dwelling fire lost control on ice and crashed into a tree - driver self extricated - Lake Harmony Fire Police provided traffic control until relieved by Albrightsville Fire Police.
March 6, 2008 CO alarm sounding at Box 73 on Rt. 534 in the Tannery - recalled before leaving fire house.
March 8, 2008 Smoke reported at Bldg. F in Midlakes Building at Big Boulder - police discovered it was kids dropping smoke bombs from balcony outside - smoke and odor got inside building - recalled before leaving fire house.
March 8, 2008 Vehicle accident with rescue at mile marker 282 East on I-80 - reported to be one vehicle crash with entrapment - one victim self extricated and refused treatment.
March 8, 2008 Vehicle accident at 330 South Lake Drive - report of car into garage - hit and run - police requested Fire Co. respond to check structural integrity - on inspection building appeared able to remain standing.
March 10, 2008 Wires down at 322 S. Lake Drive - traffic assistance by fire police
March 10, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 276 in median on I80 - report of one vehicle crash - due to computer dispatch error District 17 was not dispatched.
March 16, 2008 Med Evac Landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - male patient flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital.
March 21, 2008 Med Evac Landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - a female patient was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital.
March 24, 2008 Brush fire on Rte. 940 across from High Elevations caused by a controlled burn that got out of control.
March 25, 2008 Brush fire along the access road to Francis E. Walter Dam. Origin of fire appeared to be suspicious.
March 26, 2008 Brush fire on Interstate 80 at Mile Marker 279 east. District 18 units on scene extinguished fire.
March 28, 2008 Vehicle acccident on Lake Road near Big Boulder entrance. Utility pole severed closing the road. Driver self-extricated, refused treatment.

FEBRUARY CALLS

February 1, 2008 Vehicle accident on Rt. 940 east of Moseywood Road - one vehicle crash - two adults and two children self extricated - patients transported by LHRS - directed traffic until highway cleared.
February 1, 2008 Vehicle accident at 127 Moseywood Road - one car crash into tree - one female treated and transported by LHRS.
February 1, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 274 West on I-80 - one vehicle crash with car on its roof - victims self extricated - recalled while en route.
February 2, 2008 Med Evac landing at Penn Kidder School due to icy conditions at Big Boulder Ski Area - assisted in landing, loading and take-off of Penn Star helicopter for 14 year old male skier with head injury.
February 2, 2008 Vehicle accident on Jack Frost entry road - car hit tree trapping driver and child - removed door to extricate driver.
February 5, 2008 Responded to call for hissing sounds heard in front of Kidder Police Station - investigation revealed air escaping from Verizon Cables - Verizon arrived to rectify situation.
February 5, 2008 Shur-Fine delivery trailer entered parking lot in front of Post Office/Fire House struck power line pulling it down and damaging wires, meter box, etc. Damage to electrical system in Fire House required extensive electrical repair. PP&L installed new service lines.
February 5, 2008 Responded to request from Rescue Squad to assist in removal of patient from home at 5 Laurel Lane in Albrightsville.
February 5, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 277 East ramp of I-80 - Tractor Trailer rolled over - driver and helper self extricated - provided lighting and used oil dry on highway to clear liquids - fire police directed traffic while highway was cleared.
February 6, 2008 Dwelling fire at 23 Buckhill Road in Indian Mountain Lakes - smoke reported in building - from malfunctioning pellet stove - recalled while en route.
February 7, 2008 Fire alarm sounding at Terra Cottage Rest at 90 Lake Road - false alarm.
February 9, 2008 At request of Kidder Police, closed Rt. 903 between Lake Road and Kidder School due to severe icy road conditions - PennDOT salted road and road was opened.
February 12, 2008 Structure fire at Split Rock Lodge Room 310 - attacked fire with water and broke out exterior windows knocking down fire and ventilated area with fans - did search and clearing of building while fire was being addressed.
February 15, 2008 Vehicle fire at Bandit Truck Stop on Rt. 534 - Tractor Trailer cab on fire - fire knocked down by civilians.
February 16, 2008 Fire alarm at Building #1 Willowbrook - Unit 1104B - smoke was from cooking - nothing required from LHFD on scene.
February 16, 2008 Med Evac Landing at St. Peter the Fisherman Church - assisted landing, loading and take-off of Penn Star V with 20 year old female skier with hip injuries.
February 16, 2008 Med Evac Landing at St. Peter the Fisherman Church - assisted landing, loading and take-off of Med Evac IV with 18 year old male skier with abdominal pain.
February 16, 2008 Responded to suspicious odor reported at the Ramada Inn on Rt. 940 following a power outage - PP&L arrived and determined the problem was in the transformer.
February 17, 2008 CO alarm sounding at 174 North lake Drive - investigation indicated all readings at O.
February 17, 2008 Structure fire reported at Indian Lakes Motel E-1 - recalled while en route.
February 21, 2008 Dwelling fire at 51 Willow Drive in Penn Forest - fire in chimney area - removed chimney and knocked down fire.
February 21, 2008 Med Evac Landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - 14 year old female skier with leg fracture - fire police assisted District 18 with landing zone for Med Evac IV - fire men were not available due to above dwelling fire call in Penn Forest.
February 21, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 93 South on PA Turnpike - report of tractor trailer crash with fluids down - recalled while en route.
February 22, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 277 East exit on I-80 - tractor trailer crash - vehicle went down an embankment with some fluids down - used oil dry on roadway.
February 22, 2008 Vehicle accident on Rt. 903 near Penn Kidder School - reported vehicle into a pole - no need for fire equipment - recalled en route.
February 22, 2008 Fire alarm sounding at 61 Highland Drive in Penn Forest - recalled before leaving fire house.
February 22, 2008 Responded to report of five year old apparently walked away in pajamas from 127 South Lake Drive - searched house and outside and then found child in the house under a blanket.
February 23, 2008 Stood standby in firehouse for Med Evac landing a at St. Peter Church - cancelled in station.
February 24, 2008 Vehicle accident on Beaver Road in Holiday Pocono - reported one vehicle crash with occupants fleeing the scene - recalled while en route.
February 24, 2008 Med Evac landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - assisted with landing, loading and take-off of Penn Star V with male skier with unknown injury.
February 25, 2008 Call for fire police at Rt. 940 and PA Turnpike - tractor trailer over embankment - fire police provided traffic control.
February 27, 2008 Vehicle accident at Rt. 903 and Lake Road - one vehicle crash into woods hitting a tree - driver self extricated with injuries requiring Med Evac.
February 27, 2008 Med Evac landing at St Peter Church - assisted in landing, loading and take-off of victim from above vehicle accident.
February 28, 2008 Med Evac landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - 15 year old male - no response from LHFD - landing handled by Albrightsville Fire Co.
February 29, 2008 Vehicle accident on Lake Road at Rescue Squad building - two vehicle crash - both vehicles leaking fluid - used oil dry.
February 29, 2008 Med Evac landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - assisted in landing, loading and take-off of Med Evac IV with 21 year old male with head injuries.
February 29, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 283 (in median) on I-80 - car into tree - recalled while en route.
February 29, 2008 Vehicle accident on Rt. 940 West of Moseywood Road - two SUVs hit head on and involving a third vehicle - no entrapment - victims transported by several ambulance companies.
February 29, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 90 South on PA Turnpike - car off the road and into guard rail - cancelled while en route.
February 29, 2008 Vehicle accident on Rt. 940 near Harmony Beverage - tractor trailer stuck blocking the roadway - fire police responded to control traffic.

JANUARY CALLS

January 2, 2008 Two vehicle crash with minor injuries - arrived at accident but no service provided.
January 2, 2008 Fire alarm at #1 Willowbrook in Split Rock - Security reported false alarm - alarm malfunction verified by LHFD member on scene - all units recalled before leaving station.
January 4, 2008 Dwelling fire at 281 Snow Ridge Village - fireplace lit with damper closed - home filled with smoke - smoke was cleared.
January 5, 2008 Fire alarm sounding at Building #1 in Willowbrook - investigation indicated a malfunction of the alarm - maintenance working to correct problem.
January 6, 2008 Vehicle accident reported on Rt. 903 North of Lake Road - truck into tree with an unresponsive patient - accident unfounded - actual location was Rt. 903 near crossover of the Turnpike.
January 6, 2008 Fire alarm at Building #1 in Willowbrook - investigation found smoke in hallway and at Unit 1104A - residents cooking set off the alarm.
January 10, 2008 Med-Evac Landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - stand-by at staging area for Penn Star landing - flight recalled - returned to fire house.
January 11, 2008 Med-Evac landing at Big Boulder Ski Area - stand-by at fire house until flight cancelled.
January 13, 2008 Report of tree or pole on fire at 200 North Lake Drive - investigated and found resident doing controlled burning in a barrel - all under control.
January 13, 2008 Animal Rescue Attempt - Deer reported as fall through the ice on Lake Harmony near 158 South Lake Drive - used row boat from shore with ropes to reach the deer - deer extricated and brought to shore but deer expired.
January 14, 2008 Dwelling fire reported at 4 Cherokee Drive in Penn Forest- fire was on 2nd floor with heavy smoke - apparently started as chimney fire - fire was between roof and room paneling - pulled paneling and ventilated and extinguished fire.
January 14, 2008 Vehicle accident reported at mile marker 281 West on I-80 - while en route were recalled by State Police and while returning were diverted to the above dwelling fire.
January 16, 2008 Fire alarm at Big Boulder Ski Area ski shop - investigation revealed nothing amiss - alarm reset.
January 17, 2008 Vehicle accident near 300 South Lake Drive - one car crash into pole with transformer snapping pole and injury to driver - fire police remained on scene until PPL arrived - driver air lifted by Med Evac 4 from landing zone set up at Big Boulder Ski Area.
January 19, 2008 Med Evac of Big Boulder skier - assisted with landing, loading and take-off of Med Evac 4 with 29 year old male with a head injury.
January 19, 2008 Vehicle fire at mile marker 282.4 West on I-80 - pick-up being towed with engine on fire. fire extinguished.
January 21, 2008 Med Evac landing at Jack Frost Ski Area - stand-by at ski area for possible transport of 62 year old male - flight cancelled.
January 21, 2008 Vehicle accident at intersection of Greenwood and Maplewood in Split Rock - 2 vehicle crash with reported entrapment - no entrapment found - injured female transported by ambulance.
January 24, 2008 Dwelling Fire at 130 North Shore Drive in Indian Mountain Lakes - Single story dwelling with smoke showing - contained fire to the kitchen area.
January 26, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 278 West on I-80 - one vehicle crash - vehicle left roadway and ran down the bank lodging between trees - had to cut trees down to get driver out of the vehicle - driver transported by Lake Harmony Rescue Squad.
January 26, 2008 Med Evac Landing at Jack Frost Ski Are - assisted in landing, loading and take-off of Penn Star III with 12 year old female with head injury.
January 26, 2008 Dwelling fire at 160 Penn Forest Trail in Towamensing Township - reported oven fire - smoke in dwelling as a result of cooking - smoke cleared.
January 27, 2008 Med Evac Landing at Big Boulder Ski Area - assisted in landing, loading and take-off of Med Evac IV with 18 year old male skier.
January 27, 2008 Dwelling Fire at 70 Pine Tree Road in Penn Forest - 1 1/2 story dwelling under exterior attack - fire knocked down and under control.
January 29, 2008 Vehicle accident at mile marker 281.2 West on I-80 - one vehicle crash - car left roadway and went down bank - victim transported by LHRS.
January 29, 2008 Dwelling fire at 3 Lakewood Dr. in Split Rock - steam coming from chimney and heater area - turned heater off and contacted owner who apparently knew what the problem was and would fix it.
